Colombia: “Russia’s not how we imagined, but we like it”

It’s been a few days and the Colombians have adapted to the Kazan climate. In between industrious training, Juan Bedoya, Nicolas Galindo, Andres Peres and Roger Trujillo found the time to explore the city and shared their impressions with us.

-You managed to see some of Kazan today – what do you think?

-Kazan is a very beautiful city. In Colombia we have a stereotypical idea of Russia, but here’s very different and I like it.

-Have you participated in other major olympiads?

-Three of us have been to similar events, and for one of us it’s the first time.

-What made you come to Kazan?

-On the one hand we want to get to know Russian and Tatar culture, and on the other we want to perform well at the Olympiad.

-Do you have any lucky charms?

-My good-luck charm is my pocket English-Spanish dictionary which they gave me – it helps me a lot.

-And any superstitions?

-Yes – one that comes from Russia: if the first three numbers on a bus ticket add up to the same number as the second three, then it’s a good sign!
