We haven’t actually been off the campus yet, but I’m sure the city is wonderful. The Universiade Village had me at first sight. I did have a lucky charm, but I’ve since lost it. If anything things have gone better since then – it seems it was bringing my bad luck! And so now I hope to win the Olympiad.
The thing we like about Kazan the most is beautiful girls and delicious food. Participation in Olympiad is just the tip of the iceberg. And there are always such things as meeting new people, socialising, seeing new places and cultures.
It’s no secret that we, the Swiss, love walking barefoot. Russian roads or at least the roads in the Universiade Village are clean enough to walk on without footwear. It feels as comfortable as at home.

Before coming to Russia we were full of preconceptions regarding the weather. Is it always boiling hot like this or is it an exception? Anyway, this myth about Russian weather being eternally cold is debunked now.

If you look in my passport you will find out that it’s not my first time here. I have visited Russia and Belarus about 7 times. My family and I enjoy Russian cuisine a lot – we cook different soups daily and frequently use traditional Russian recipes. I am also a fan of original Russian architecture which I really admire!
